How to give your child a role in a classic

Your child in the story everyone knows

Under Classics (/klassiker) you find 50 classic stories to start from, and in each one you decide who plays whom. Your child can be Little Red Riding Hood, grandma can be Akka and the dog can have a role too. This guide is about that one step, Who's in?. The whole way from the shelf to the finished book, and the Christmas offer, is in 50 classic tales starring your child.

How to give someone a role

1. Open Classics in the menu and tap a cover.
2. Under Who's in?, tap the role you want to swap, for example Little Red Riding Hood.
3. Tap Upload a photo. The photo is cropped, and you type the name of the person playing the role.
4. Choose Person or Animal. You can also choose he or she, but you don't have to.
5. Tap Done. The role now shows your child, for example "Leo as Little Red Riding Hood".

To undo, tap Keep Little Red Riding Hood. If you skip the whole step, the story stays true to the book.

"You can swap several roles in the same story. Your child can play the lead while big sister becomes the wolf."

Saved characters

When you are signed in, you see Your characters after tapping a role. Pick one of them instead of uploading a photo again. You save characters when you make a book, and the same character can appear in as many stories as you like.

About the photos

If you upload a new photo, first tick the box about the photos. The photo is used to draw the portrait in your book.

What happens next?

The pictures of the base story are already drawn. When one of yours has a role, only the pages where that role appears, and the cover, are drawn again. That is why True to the book is the fastest.

Then you choose what should happen, the reading age and the length, and tap Write the story. The story workshop writes the script, and you illustrate the book as usual.
