What are story tokens?

Story tokens (bt) are the balance you use for AI generation on barnbok.ai – mainly illustrations and new book drafts.

You see balance and history under Story tokens and can top up via Buy tokens when needed.

Welcome bonus

New accounts receive a welcome bonus at registration. The exact amount is shown on the pricing page and usually covers at least one full book.

Subscriptions for the lowest token price

For families who create often, there are subscriptions and purchase packs – see the pricing page for current tiers and auto-refill.

Plan before you re-illustrate

Re-illustrate the whole book charges one bt per image that is generated again. The UI shows a confirmation with the total bt before you approve – no surprises.

The Illustrate missing images batch button also shows how many images will be created.

Low balance

If the balance is not enough, the job stops with a clear error message, a requestId for troubleshooting and a link to buy more tokens. A running batch can be cancelled.

Notifications also warn you when the balance is low so you have time to top up.
